Important disclaimer

This guide is educational and written for families and self-advocates. It is not medical, legal, or financial advice. Laws and benefits vary by state. Always consult qualified professionals (pediatricians, developmental specialists, special-education attorneys/advocates, financial planners who understand disability benefits) for decisions about care, school services, or money.

How Brighter Pathways evaluates sources

  • Primary government or peer-public-health sources when possible
  • Clear authorship and update practices
  • Respect for autistic people (not only "awareness" marketing)
  • Actionable education over sensationalism
  • We link out so you can verify - we do not hide behind vague claims

Government & public systems

Disability-led & educational nonprofits

What we generally avoid promoting

  • "Miracle cure" products and unproven biomedical protocols marketed with fear
  • Content that treats autistic people as tragedies rather than people
  • Any instruction to ignore medical emergencies or stop prescribed care without a clinician

Frequently asked questions

Why don't you list every autism nonprofit?

Volume is not quality. We prioritize sources with transparent information, public-health or disability-rights grounding, and usefulness to families - and we avoid campaigns built primarily on fear or unproven cures.
